Militants launched a deadly attack on a convoy belonging to Pakistan's Border Corps in the province of Balochistan, the Dawn newspaper reports, citing local authorities.
According to officials, a suicide bomber driving an explosives-laden vehicle rammed into the convoy, killing at least five soldiers and injuring ten others. The blast caused significant damage to military vehicles and was followed by sporadic gunfire as security forces secured the area.
The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), a separatist militant group, claimed responsibility for the attack. The group has waged an insurgency in the region for years, citing demands for greater autonomy and control over local resources.
Security forces have cordoned off the site, and an investigation is underway.
