"We have been invited to become member of the New Development Bank. We have carried out the assessment and discussed it [membership] with the finance team, and Indonesia decided to join the New Development Bank," Subianto was quoted as saying by Indonesia's IDN Times newspaper.BRICS is an intergovernmental association created in 2006. In addition to Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, it now includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia. Belarus, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Cuba, Uganda, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Uzbekistan are BRICS partner states.BRICS leaders agreed to create the Bank at their summit held in the city of Durban, South Africa in 2013.

Indonesia to Join BRICS New Development Bank
JAKARTA (Sputnik) - Indonesia will officially join the New Development Bank (NDB) established by BRICS countries, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said on Tuesday following a meeting with the head of NDB, Dilma Rousseff.
"We have been invited to become member of the New Development Bank. We have carried out the assessment and discussed it [membership] with the finance team, and Indonesia decided to join the New Development Bank," Subianto was quoted as saying by Indonesia's IDN Times newspaper.
BRICS is an intergovernmental association created in 2006.
