Khalistanis Attack Hindu Temple in Surrey, Canada for Third Time
In a recent attack, Khalistani supporters targeted the Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Surrey, British Columbia, for the third time. Canadian journalist Daniel Bordman posted a video regarding the incident, stating that two individuals sprayed graffiti on the temple and stole a security camera around 3 a.m.
The attack took place on Sunday night at the temple, where Khalistani supporters attempted to deface the temple with slogans and vandalism. In response, the Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce (CHCC) condemned the attack on social media platform X and urged security agencies to take swift and decisive action.
"We strongly condemn the vandalism of Laxmi Narayan Mandir in BC by Khalistani extremists. This act of Hinduphobia has no place in Canada.," the CHCC wrote on X.
Canadian Member of Parliament Chandra Arya also expressed strong concern over the ongoing attacks, stating that Khalistani extremists are silencing Hindu voices.
"The attacks on Hindu temples that began several years ago continue unabated today — this latest graffiti on the Hindu temple is yet another chilling reminder of the growing influence of Khalistani extremism. Well-organized, well-funded, and backed by significant political clout, Khalistani elements are brazenly asserting their dominance and successfully silencing Hindu voices across Canada," Arya posted on X.
He further pointed out that neither the police nor political leaders are taking the issue seriously. He described the situation as troubling for the local Hindu community, who feel unsupported and ignored.
