Lavrov Slams West for Ignoring Ukraine’s Right to Self-Determination
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The West's focus on Ukraine’s territorial integrity is unacceptable while completely overlooking the right of peoples and nations to self-determination, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday.
"We consider absolutely unacceptable the emphasis on the principle of territorial integrity [concerning Ukraine] that the West, along with leaders of the UN secretariat and other international bodies, make while completely ignoring the right of nations to self-determination," Lavrov said at the 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues in Moscow.
The Kiev regime does not represent the people of Crimea or Donbas, Lavrov added.
