07:48 28.05.2025 (Updated: 11:49 28.05.2025) MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Russian border guards with their professional holiday and has expressed confidence that they will achieve worthy results in all areas of their work, repelling any threat.
Border Guards Day is observed in Russia on May 28.
"I congratulate the staff, civilian personnel of the Border Guard Service of the Russian Federal Security Service on their professional holiday, Border Guards Day," Putin said.
The Russian president emphasized that border guards have demonstrated heroic efforts in solving important tasks during Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine.
"I am confident that our border guards will continue to demonstrate worthy results in all areas of their work, to repel any threat, stop attempts to violate the state border, stop attacks by saboteurs and terrorists, to identify and eliminate channels of drug trafficking, illegal migration and smuggling," Putin said.
