BANGKOK (Sputnik) - Indian forensic experts and pathologists have identified 114 of the 274 victims of last week's Air India passenger plane crash in the city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat state, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi said on Monday.

"Air India Crash Update: DNA reports as of 4 PM - 114 matches confirmed. Identification process ongoing," the minister said on social media.

NDTV news channel reported that doctors collected only 230 DNA samples from relatives of the victims, while the remains of 274 people were kept in the morgue of Ahmedabad's Civil Hospital. More than 60 bodies were handed over to their families.
