Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced the launch of Mission Sudarshan Chakra, a national security programme to protect India's critical assets like nuclear power plants, military bases, and the national grid through the development of indigenous air and cyber technologies in the next decade.Under Mission Sudarshan Chakra, inspired by Lord Shri Krishna, India is set to create a powerful weapon system that would thwart any attacks on its territory. According to Modi, the nationwide security shield will cover all public places by 2035. The initiative is believed to have a multi-layered security framework that would not only detect, track, and destroy enemy threats in the air and on surface, but is also expected to have in-built mechanisms to prevent the adversary's attacks in cyberspace.

PM Modi Announces Sudarshan Chakra Mission to Fully Secure India’s Airspace by 2035
With aerial warfare becoming the centre-piece of military power at present, India is building a robust and multi-layered air defence shield to protect its vital installations and civilian infrastructure.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced the launch of Mission Sudarshan Chakra, a national security programme to protect India's critical assets like nuclear power plants, military bases, and the national grid through the development of indigenous air and cyber technologies in the next decade.
"Every citizen must feel protected. This mission will be research-based and developed entirely with indigenous technology," PM Modi said in his Independence Day address from the historic Red Fort in New Delhi. "In the next ten years, by 2035, I want to expand, strengthen, and modernise this national security shield."
Under Mission Sudarshan Chakra, inspired by Lord Shri Krishna, India is set to create a powerful weapon system that would thwart any attacks on its territory. According to Modi, the nationwide security shield will cover all public places by 2035.
The initiative is believed to have a multi-layered security framework that would not only detect, track, and destroy enemy threats in the
air and on surface, but is also expected to have in-built mechanisms to prevent the adversary's attacks in cyberspace.
