TEHRAN (Sputnik) - The Iranian navy will conduct missile drills in the Gulf of Oman and the northern Indian Ocean using a wide range of precision cruise missiles this week, Abbas Hasani, the spokesman for the drill, announced on Wednesday.
"The Iranian navy's 'Sustainable Power' missile drills will be held over the next two days [Thursday and Friday] in the northern Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Oman with the involvement of surface, submarine, flight, coastal and sea-based missile units," Hasani was quoted as saying by the Tasnim news agency.
During the upcoming drills, the Iranian armed forces will practice the use of a wide range of precision cruise missiles of short, medium and long ranges to hit and destroy surface targets, the spokesman added.
He said that drones would also be used in the drills.
