Over 20 foreign leaders and representatives of global organizations are expected to participate in the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin announced during a Friday press conference.
The SCO summit is scheduled to take place in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1.
“President of China Xi Jinping will meet with more than 20 foreign leaders and heads of 10 international organizations on the banks of the Haihe River,” Liu Bin stated.

He confirmed that among the invited dignitaries are Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The diplomat stressed that the leaders would discuss the SCO’s achievements, chart the organization’s future development, reach consensus on cooperation, and work toward strengthening the vision of a shared community with a common destiny.
