Russian President Vladimir Putin may hold additional bilateral meetings with other leaders of states on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's (SCO) summit on September 1, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday.
"We have agreed on additional bilateral meetings with various leaders of states and governments, which will take place tomorrow, and we will keep you informed," Peskov told reporters.
Putin's conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, on the sidelines of the summit is possible, as they will have the opportunity to cross paths, Peskov added.
"We hope that they will have the opportunity to cross paths tomorrow on the sidelines of the SCO meeting. At least they will have such an opportunity," Peskov said.
The SCO summit, the largest in history, is being held at the Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center in the Chinese city of Tianjin from August 31 to September 1. This summit is attended by more than 20 foreign leaders, as well as representatives of international organizations.
