Laotian Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone announced on Thursday that bilateral trade between Laos and Russia has surpassed $90 million since 2013.
"From 2013 to the present, our total trade volume has exceeded $90 million, while the trade exchange in 2024 has surpassed $5.8 million — this marks an increase of approximately 50.5% compared to the previous year," the prime minister said during the Russia-Laos business dialogue at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
Laos mostly purchases mechanical equipment, aircraft spare parts, plastic, nuclear industry-related products, and vehicles from Russia, the prime minister said, adding that Russia, in turn, purchases aircraft spare parts, footwear, clothing, coffee, tea, and wood processing items.
