From the Kargil War to the Surgical Strikes of 2016 to the recent Operation Sindoor, India's Armed Forces have a long list of successful missions in recent decades.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said that victory was no longer an exception for the Indian Armed Forces and has become a habit for the country's tri-services.
"The cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam still fills our hearts with pain and grief. It shook us, but didn't break our morale. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi took a pledge to teach terrorists a lesson they never could have imagined. Operation Sindoor showed our enemies how strong we are. The coordination and courage with which our forces executed the operation is proof that victory is no longer an exception for us; it has become our habit. We must always maintain this habit," Singh said during an event marked to commemorate the diamond jubilee of India's victory over Pakistan in the 1965 war in New Delhi.
It is worth noting that India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan in May, after the Pahalgam massacre in which terrorists brutally gunned down 26 innocent people in the picturesque town in Jammu and Kashmir.
India's military campaign resulted in a counter-operation from Pakistan; however, the Islamic neighbour's attacks on the country's military installations and other sites were quickly repelled through a robust air defence shield led by the Russian-origin S-400.
Subsequently, the Indian Air Force (IAF) struck nearly a dozen Pakistani military bases, including the high-profile Nur Khan airbase, causing significant damage to their radar sites, runways, aircraft hangars, and ammunition depots.
Interestingly, it was the BrahMos missile that incapacitated Pakistan's military capability, turning the four-day conflict decisively in India's favour.
