On Monday, the Dutch-flagged Minervagracht cargo ship was attacked off the coast of Yemen. The incident left two crew members injured. The Houthis, who control northern Yemen and much of Yemen's Red Sea coast, declared support for Palestine in late 2023. They have launched hundreds of missiles and drones at Israel since the start of the conflict in the Gaza Strip in October 2023. Most of these attacks were prevented by missile defense systems, but some hits on Israeli territory were recorded. In response, the IDF carried out several large-scale air operations against Houthi targets in Yemen, including ports, power plants, factories, and the Sanaa airport.

Houthis Confirm They Attacked Minervagracht Ship Off Yemen Coast
Yemen's Ansar Allah movement, also known as the Houthis, confirmed the attack on Dutch ship Minervagracht using a cruise missile for violating the ban on entering Israeli ports.
"The naval force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a military operation targeting the ship (MINERVAGRACHT) owing to the violation of the entry ban to the ports of occupied Palestine by the company that owns the ship. The targeting operation took place in the Gulf of Aden with a cruise missile. The operation resulted in a direct hit on the ship, which caught fire and is now at risk of sinking," the movement said in a statement on Tuesday.
