Russian air defence systems on duty shot down 53 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over nine Russian regions during the past night, the Ministry of Defence of Russia said on Wednesday.
“During the past night, between 11:00 p.m. on 7 October and 7:00 a.m. Moscow time on 8 October, air defence units intercepted and destroyed 53 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles,” the ministry’s statement read.
The Ministry noted that 28 of the drones were downed over the Belgorod region, 11 over Voronezh, six over Rostov, two each over Bryansk and Kursk, and one each over Lipetsk, Tambov, Smolensk, and Nizhny Novgorod regions.
