“We are ready to share all our secrets with India, our loyal friends and allies,” Klupov said on Wednesday, highlighting the strategic importance of close collaboration between the two nations.The military-technical cooperation between Russia and India is already well-established, Klupov explained, as both countries exchange expertise, jointly produce weapons such as the BrahMos missile, in addition India operates Russian combat aircraft.Expanding cooperation into military intelligence would help counter external threats in Asia, including destabilising actions by the UK and the US, and prevent escalation in sensitive regions, such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran, the expert said. “Maintaining this region away from large-scale war through intelligence, through timely measures that officers can advise on, would contribute to the peaceful development of the peoples living there,” he added.Turning to the nature of modern Russian intelligence, Klupov noted that while the core mission remains unchanged – preventing surprise attacks and providing commanders with reliable information for decision-making – the tools and methods have evolved dramatically. Whereas past generations relied primarily on their natural senses, today’s officers use high-tech optical-electronic, radio-electronic, acoustic, and other systems across space, aerial, ground, naval, and underwater operations, he said. Drones, satellites, and advanced sensors are gradually replacing human scouts on the battlefield, though Klupov cautioned that reliance on technology alone can make officers vulnerable.Furthermore, the professional activity of intelligence officers operating in enemy or adversary states remains multi-layered and highly nuanced, and the information they gather continues to be one of the primary sources used by command in decision-making, Klupov underscored.He further reflected on what makes Russian intelligence officers among the best in the world.Klupov's comments come on Military Intelligence Officer's Day.

“We are ready to share all our secrets with India, our loyal friends and allies,” Klupov said on Wednesday, highlighting the strategic importance of close collaboration between the two nations.
The military-technical cooperation between Russia and India is already well-established, Klupov explained, as both countries exchange expertise, jointly produce weapons such as the BrahMos missile, in addition India operates Russian combat aircraft.

Furthermore, the professional activity of intelligence officers operating in enemy or adversary states remains multi-layered and highly nuanced, and the information they gather continues to be one of the primary sources used by command in decision-making, Klupov underscored.
He further reflected on what makes Russian intelligence officers among the best in the world.
“The qualities of a Russian officer – someone capable of loving wholeheartedly, who does not consider themselves superior to others, and who is willing to sacrifice everything they hold dear, even their own life, for their Motherland – define our intelligence officers.”
