India has made rapid strides in defence production in the last decade, with military exports witnessing a remarkable growth from $218 million in 2014-15 to $2.37 billion in FY 23-24.
India's Department of Defence Production (DDP) is set to showcase the country's indigenous capabilities in the military domain at the forthcoming India International Trade Fair (IITF), which will be held at the iconic Bharat Mandapam in Delhi from November 14 to 27.
In a bid to highlight India's locally developed military equipment, which played a key role during Operation Sindoor against Pakistan in May this year, the DDP will establish a dedicated pavilion at the venue.

"The pavilion will highlight the significant transformation achieved under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, showcasing the growing strength, innovation and self-reliance of the defence manufacturing ecosystem," the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said in a statement on Thursday.
A wide array of state-of-the-art products, cutting-edge technologies, and innovations across domains such as land systems, naval platforms, aerospace and emerging technologies will be displayed, the statement added.
Notably, all 16 of the nation's Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), including aviation behemoth Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), and several defence start-ups will participate in the expo.
According to the MoD, the prime aim of showcasing locally-produced defence items is to raise "awareness about India's indigenous defence capabilities and promote collaborations across the Industry and connect with the general public as part of its outreach initiatives".
