Russian Export Centre Propels Trade with India to $491 Million
16:01 18.11.2025 (Updated: 16:02 18.11.2025) The Russian Export Centre (REC, part of VEB Group) has helped Russian companies conclude foreign trade deals with India worth a total of $491 million over the first nine months of this year.
More than 900 Russian companies received support from the Russian Export Centre (REC) for trade with India, Mamed Akhmedov, head of REC’s India office, said this at the Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam.
In 2024, 951 companies benefited, with assisted deals totalling over $1 billion. Key sectors include agriculture, metallurgy, timber, engineering, chemicals, and high-tech equipment.
REC offers support at all stages of entering the Indian market, including consultancy, business missions, trade fair participation, negotiation assistance, and product promotion under the “Made in Russia” brand, he said. Financial and insurance support is provided via RosEximbank and EXIAR.
In 2026, Russian companies can participate in ChemTech World Expo and Smart Cities India with REC support, Mamedov highlighted. Registration is open until 23 November on the “My Export” platform. REC will also organise a “Made in Russia” business mission in Mumbai in May 2026, he added.
At the Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam, REC met Sudharsan Swamy, President of the Visakhapatnam Chamber of Commerce, to discuss bilateral trade cooperation and specific local business requests for purchasing Russian products, according to REC. This was the first interaction between the chamber, established in 1929, and Russian organisations.
The Partnership Summit, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with DPIIT, is an annual international business event since 1995.
REC, part of VEB Group, supports non-commodity, non-energy exports and provides financial and non-financial assistance through its “My Export” platform and the “Made in Russia” programme.
