Balanced, Diversified Trade Seen as Path to $100 Billion Russia–India Turnover - Maksim Reshetnikov
18:02 04.12.2025 (Updated: 18:04 04.12.2025) Russian-Indian economic cooperation is demonstrating steady growth and reaching a new level and this is facilitated by close high-level ties and mutual business interest, said Maksim Reshetnikov at the Russia–India Business Forum.
“All the prerequisites for this are in place. Our economy is developing steadily despite external challenges,” emphasized the Minister of Economic Development.
Trade turnover between Russia and India has almost reached 64 billion dollars. By 2030, this figure must be increased to 100 billion dollars.
To improve trade balance, Russia proposes increasing imports of Indian pharmaceuticals, food products, chemicals, equipment, auto parts, textiles, and electronics.
The minister noted the need for modern solutions to develop logistics. Regular shipments are already operating through the North–South corridor. Options must be developed for using the Northern Sea Route and the Chennai–Vladivostok Eastern Maritime Corridor.
E-commerce also provides additional opportunities. Maksim Reshetnikov invited Indian producers of food, household goods, electronics, clothing, and footwear to enter Russian online marketplaces.
The potential for tourism development was also highlighted. Russia has extended the validity of electronic visas for Indian citizens to 120 days, with a stay of up to 30 days. In the future, visa-free group travel is planned.
