Defence cooperation between India and Armenia is expanding significantly, and cutting-edge military platforms that New Delhi is developing for its armed forces are being offered to Yerevan, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.It is worth highlighting that India is the largest defence supplier to Armenia, with New Delhi exporting its indigenous Pinaka Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) systems and short-range Akash missiles to the Caucasus nation. The Akash missile played a key role during Operation Sindoor, India's counter-terror campaign against Pakistan earlier this year, cementing its status as one of the best systems in its class in the world.Additionally, Armenia acquired six units of India's Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) Howitzers in 2023, and the two countries have been negotiating a follow-on order for an additional 84 such artillery systems. Also, Yerevan has evinced interest in the BrahMos missile, a highly successful Indo-Russian joint venture, which destroyed multiple Pakistani air bases during the brief conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbours in May 2025.

India-Armenia Strengthen Defense Ties with Advanced Military Offerings: MEA Spokesperson
India and Armenia have a burgeoning defence partnership, especially since 2020, with the former supplying the latter top-class military platforms, including air defence systems, rocket launchers and howitzers, amongst others.
Defence cooperation between India and Armenia is expanding significantly, and cutting-edge military platforms that New Delhi is developing for its armed forces are being offered to Yerevan, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.
"India has so much to offer today to Armenia and to the world when it comes to defence engagement. What you are seeing in India-Armenia relations today is part of that strength. Our defence expertise has expanded significantly across the world, and many countries are interested in what we have to offer. We are developing cutting-edge platforms and engaging with countries so that they can also benefit from what we are doing," the MEA official stated in New Delhi.
It is worth highlighting that India is the largest defence supplier to Armenia, with New Delhi exporting its indigenous Pinaka Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) systems and short-range Akash missiles to the Caucasus nation.
The Akash missile played a key role during Operation Sindoor, India's counter-terror campaign against Pakistan earlier this year, cementing its status as
one of the best systems in its class in the world.
Additionally, Armenia acquired six units of India's Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) Howitzers in 2023, and the two countries have been negotiating a follow-on order for an additional 84 such artillery systems.
Also, Yerevan has evinced interest in the BrahMos missile, a highly successful Indo-Russian joint venture, which destroyed multiple Pakistani air bases during the brief conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbours in May 2025.
