China Opposes Use of Force in Global Affairs: Foreign Ministry
China opposes the use of force in international relations and imposition of one's will on other countries, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Thursday.
"China consistently advocates respect for the basic purposes of the UN Charter and international law, opposes the use or threat of use of force in international relations, as well as against imposing its will on other countries and against the world returning to the law of the jungle," Wang Yi said in a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Beijing hopes that the government and the people of Iran will unite and overcome difficulties, the minister added.
"China believes that the government and people of Iran will unite, overcome difficulties, maintain state stability, and protect their legitimate rights and interests," Wang Yi said.
