Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hamid Ghanbari positively assessed the dynamics and prospects of Russian-Iranian business ties, boosted by the entry into force of a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Iran, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"Positive assessments were given to the dynamics and prospects of Russian-Iranian business ties, which received a significant boost from the entry into force of the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iran's acquisition of observer status in the EAEU," the ministry said.
Pankin met with Ghanbari on Wednesday.
