Iran Says US Diplomacy Not Trustworthy, Rules Out Ongoing Talks: Iran's Foreign Ministry

Tehran does not trust US diplomacy and is not holding any talks with Washington, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, pointing to repeated “negative experiences” in past negotiations.
Iran has a “very painful” history in its dealings with the United States, reminding that military strikes occurred twice within a nine-month period while diplomatic discussions were still underway, Esmaeil Baghaei stated in an interview with India Today.

These incidents amounted to a breach of fundamental diplomatic principles and demonstrated a lack of reliability in negotiations with the US, he further added.

Reiterating Iran’s current stance, the spokesperson emphasized that no dialogue or negotiation process is taking place between the two countries. Instead, Iran’s armed forces are said to be focused on safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity and national security.
