Jammu and Kashmir police, aided by central agencies, reportedly busted an interstate Lashkar‑e‑Taiba network, arresting five—including a fugitive on the run for 16 years.
Security forces raided 19 locations across Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Haryana, seizing evidence linking the network to long-running terror operations, media reports say. Among those arrested is top Lashkar‑e‑Taiba (LeT*) operative Abdullah, aka Abu Hureira, who had dodged capture for 16 years and built operations beyond J&K.

Another foreign militant, Usman alias Khubaib, was also caught, along with three Srinagar locals accused of providing shelter, supplies, and logistical support.

Officials described the network as deeply entrenched, backing militants inside and outside the Kashmir Valley, and helping one foreign terrorist flee the country using forged documents.

The operation is part of an ongoing crackdown on sleeper cells and extremist networks in the region, according to authorities.
