According to Rosatom, the system will manage the generation and distribution of electricity to the national grid. It includes 22 integrated subsystems forming part of the Automated Process Control System and the Automated Radiation Monitoring System. These components are designed to oversee equipment performance, regulate power output, and monitor technological processes both during commissioning and throughout the plant’s operational lifecycle.Fuel loading into the reactor of Unit 1 began on April 28 at the Russian-built facility. Once the process is completed, the reactor will proceed to physical startup, initiating a controlled nuclear chain reaction. This will be followed by a gradual increase in power levels, culminating in the power start-up phase when electricity will begin to flow into Bangladesh’s national grid. The Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, located approximately 160 kilometres from the capital Dhaka, is being constructed based on a Russian design as part of a broader civilian nuclear energy cooperation framework between Moscow and Dhaka.

Rosatom Installs 'Electronic Brain' System in Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1
Rosatom has fully equipped Unit 1 of Bangladesh’s Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant with an advanced automated control system, the so-called “electronic brain” of the reactor.
Rosatom has fully equipped Unit 1 of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Bangladesh with a comprehensive automated control system, described as the “electronic brain” of the nuclear power unit, the Russian state corporation announced.
According to Rosatom, the system will manage the generation and distribution of electricity to the national grid. It includes 22 integrated subsystems forming part of the Automated Process Control System and the Automated Radiation Monitoring System. These components are designed to oversee equipment performance, regulate power output, and monitor technological processes both during commissioning and throughout the plant’s operational lifecycle.
Fuel loading into the reactor of Unit 1 began on April 28 at the Russian-built facility. Once the process is completed, the reactor will proceed to physical startup, initiating a controlled nuclear chain reaction. This will be followed by a gradual increase in power levels, culminating in the power start-up phase when electricity will begin to flow into Bangladesh’s national grid.
