Ukraine’s army has carried out a drone attack on a school building and a dormitory in the Lugansk People’s Republic overnight, the head of the republic, Leonid Pasechnik, said.
The attack reportedly killed four people and has left 35 wounded.

At the time of the attack, 86 children between the ages of 14 and 18 were inside the building, Pasechnik specified.
"A tragedy occurred last night. The Ukrainian armed forces targeted sleeping, defenseless children. Enemy drones struck the academic building and the dormitory of the Starobelsk Professional College of our pedagogical university. At the time of the strike, 86 children aged 14 to 18 were present. Thirty-five people sustained injuries of varying severity," Pasechnik said.
Those injured are receiving the necessary medical assistance, the regional head added.
"Rescue teams continue clearing the rubble. Two [individuals] have already been pulled out; they have been handed over to doctors. There are still children under the rubble, the search is ongoing," he said.
Emergency services are operating at the scene, and all necessary support, including psychological assistance, is being provided, Pasechnik said.

Body of One Victim Recovered

The body of one victim after the Ukrainian strike in the city of Starobelsk in the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) was recovered from the rubble, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) said.
"At the site of the collapse of the dormitory, rescuers are dismantling the rubble manually and with the help of engineering equipment. The body of one victim has been recovered and the whereabouts of three people have been discovered," the statement said.

Kiev's Attack on LPR College Targeted, No Military Facilities Nearby: Russian Official

The Ukrainian attacks on a college in the Lugansk (Luhansk) People's Republic (LPR) were targeted, as there are no military facilities nearby, the Russian Foreign Ministry's ambassador-at-large, Rodion Miroshnik, told Sputnik on Friday.
"The strikes [of the Ukrainian armed forces] were targeted, verified, everyone understood perfectly well that there were no military facilities nearby. That is, the war crime was planned and cynically and purposefully committed," Miroshnik said.
The Ukrainian forces hit the college several times with heavy aircraft-type UAVs, Miroshnik said, adding that the attack lasted from 22:00 on Thursday evening to 02:00 on Friday morning.
