China Southern Airlines will launch a new daily direct service between Guangzhou and New Delhi starting on September 21, 2026, further strengthening air connectivity between China and India.
The announcement was made by Yu Jing, spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in India, who said the new route marks another step in restoring and expanding air links between the two neighboring countries.
According to the airline's schedule, Flight CZ359 will operate daily from Guangzhou to New Delhi, while Flight CZ360 will provide the daily return service from New Delhi to Guangzhou. The route will be operated using a Boeing 737-8 aircraft.
Yu Jing said the new service is expected to create fresh opportunities for trade, tourism and business travel, while improving connectivity across Asia.
The launch comes as India and China continue to normalize bilateral ties following several years of strained relations.
In April 2026, direct flights between Beijing and New Delhi resumed after nearly six years, marking the first restoration of scheduled passenger services between the two capitals since 2020.
Direct flights between India and China were suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The services remained halted after relations deteriorated following the Galwan Valley clash in June 2020.
The addition of the Guangzhou–Delhi route signals continued progress in restoring people-to-people exchanges and commercial links between Asia's two largest economies.
