Iran will not charge fees for services provided to ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz for two months, but intends to do so after that period, the Iranian Fars news agency reported on Monday, citing a source familiar with the matter.
After the 60-day period expires, Tehran intends to derive financial benefit from the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz by providing services in the areas of security, navigation, and insurance, the agency reported without specifying when exactly this rule will take effect.
The United States has agreed to the very concept of charging fees, the report said.
The text of the Iranian-US memorandum indicates that shipping in the Strait of Hormuz will be regulated by Iran and Oman, the agency reported.

After signing the memorandum with the US, Iran should be able to sell oil and petrochemical products without any obstacles, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei stressed on Monday.

"As soon as the memorandum is signed, and it should happen on Friday [June 19], Iran should have the opportunity to sell oil and petrochemical products," Baghaei told a briefing.
Meanwhile, Iran will closely monitor the situation in Lebanon in light of the fact that the cessation of hostilities there is part of the memorandum with the United States, he highlighted.

"In the future, we will closely monitor developments [in Lebanon] and will use, when necessary, all necessary means to ensure that the opposite side fulfills its obligations," Baghaei emphasised.

Ending the conflict in Lebanon is an integral part of the Iran-US war cessation memorandum, the diplomat added.
On Sunday, US President Donald Trump and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi confirmed that work on a memorandum of understanding had been completed, with the document expected to be signed in Switzerland on June 19. The memorandum includes an immediate cessation of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, Gharibabadi confirmed.
