US Blockade of Iranian Ports Remains in Place Despite the Agreement Reached: Maritime Info Center

The US blockade of Iranian ports remains in force despite the deal reached between the United States and Iran, the Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) said.
"A military blockade of Iranian ports remains in effect restricting all traffic inbound and outbound from these ports. Ships aiding vessels violating the blockade by conducting ship to-ship transfers are subject to boarding," JMIC said in an advisory note.
The center added that the blockade will be in force pending the execution of the ceasefire agreement scheduled for June 19.
On Sunday, US President Donald Trump and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi confirmed the finalization of a memorandum of understanding, which will be signed in Switzerland on June 19.
Following the announcement, Trump said that he was authorizing the lifting of the US naval blockade of Iranian waters and ports.
