Russia and the ASEAN countries stand for a fair system of the world order, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.
"We [Russia and the ASEAN countries] together advocate the formation of a fair system of world order, defend the principles of sovereign equality of states, non-interference in internal affairs," Putin said during a reception in honor of the summit participants.
Russia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries are working to deepen their partnership, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"Today, Russia and the ASEAN states continue to jointly develop and enhance the good traditions of mutually beneficial cooperation and work to deepen our partnership," Putin said at a reception in honor of the participants of the Russia-ASEAN summit in the Russian city of Kazan.
The representative delegations at the Russia-ASEAN summit demonstrate the desire to strengthen the partnership between Moscow and the association, the Russian president added.
"Russia is ready to continue active and collaborative work with ASEAN member states to strengthen the strategic partnership in the interests of ensuring the security, well-being, and prosperity of our countries and peoples, as well as the Eurasian region as a whole," Putin said.
The summit itself and the documents prepared for approval following it will contribute to the development of partnership, Putin stated.
"I am confident that we can look to the future with optimism, as cooperation between Russia and ASEAN is based on strong ties of friendship and mutual assistance, and the accumulated positive experience of working as partners," Putin said.
