"During the night, from 8 p.m. [17:00 GMT] on June 16 of this year to 7 a.m. [04:00 GMT] on June 17 of this year, air defense alert systems intercepted and destroyed 157 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Kaluga, Tula, Oryol, Smolensk, Lipetsk, Tver, Ryazan, Rostov, and Astrakhan regions, the Moscow Region, the Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Crimea, and over the Black Sea," the statement says.Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously noted that Ukrainian forces are sending hundreds of drones to strike Russian territory. He emphasized that the Kiev regime is deliberately targeting civilians in the regions, attacking civilian infrastructure and transport, including ambulances and agricultural machinery. The head of state described the methods used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Kiev's foreign mercenaries as terrorist.
