A group of 17 Indian motorcyclists has set off from Moscow on a landmark expedition to Vladivostok, marking India's first motorcycle journey of this scale across Russia.
The expedition, organized by Journeys by Viktorianz with support from the Moscow City Tourism Committee and the Embassy of Russia in India, will take riders across thousands of kilometers through major Russian cities and regions before reaching Vladivostok, with additional stops in Mongolia.
The initiative highlights the growing people-to-people ties between India and Russia, as well as expanding tourism cooperation between the two countries.
According to Moscow tourism officials, India has become one of the Russian capital's fastest-growing international tourism markets. Tourist arrivals from India fully recovered to pre-pandemic levels in 2025, with more than 109,000 Indian visitors traveling to Moscow during the year. Visitor numbers continued to grow in the first quarter of 2026, rising 26% year-on-year.
Officials said the expedition is intended to become an annual tradition, promoting Russia's cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and strengthening the longstanding friendship between India and Russia through adventure tourism.
