BrahMos Will Remain Difficult to Intercept for Years: Former BrahMos Aerospace CEO

Former BrahMos Aerospace CEO and senior defense scientist Dr. Sudhir Mishra has said the BrahMos missile remains one of the most difficult missiles for existing air defense systems to intercept, citing its stealth features, high speed, and low radar signature.
Speaking to Sputnik, Dr. Mishra said the missile's combination of advanced design and sophisticated software makes it extremely challenging to reverse engineer.

"The missile's complex technology and software make it very difficult to copy," he said.

According to Dr. Mishra, BrahMos' precision strike capability is the result of its advanced navigation system, supersonic speed, and powerful warhead working together.
He added that, given the current state of air defense technology, the missile is expected to remain highly difficult to intercept for many years.

Dr. Mishra also highlighted the strategic value of BrahMos exports, saying they not only enhance India's defense cooperation with partner countries but also deepen long-term strategic relationships.

He noted that defense collaboration extends beyond military hardware to include training, technology cooperation, and broader bilateral engagement.

Dr. Mishra said India and Russia have significant opportunities to expand joint development in emerging defense technologies.

He identified drones, unmanned systems, and next-generation defense technologies as key areas where the two countries could strengthen collaboration in the coming years.
