The deployment of troops from the "coalition of the willing" in Ukraine is unacceptable, and Russia will view them as legitimate military targets, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.

"According to French President [Emmanuel] Macron, plans for the deployment of such forces, which will be stationed far from the front line, are ready ... In this context, we would like to reiterate that the deployment of any military contingents from the so-called "coalition of the willing" in Ukraine is unacceptable to our country. This, I repeat, would de facto constitute foreign intervention and increase threats to Russia's security," Zakharova said at a briefing.

Such units will be considered by Moscow as legitimate military targets, Zakharova added.
