The floods hit the districts of Rajouri and Poonch after heavy and continuous rains, the newspaper said. Many homes were flooded and roads were damaged by mudflows.
A 28-year-old woman reportedly died when her house collapsed in Noonabandi village, in Surankote area. Her husband and three children, aged between two and six, were rescued from the wreckage and hospitalised.
Earlier the day, the Indian Army's White Knight Corps, alongside J&K Police, SDRF, and civil authorities, rescued 11 civilians, including five children, during flood relief operations in Rajouri.
