The ministry clarified that a meeting of the BRICS Anti-Corruption Working Group, chaired by India, was held in Hyderabad, India, from August 4 to 5. A Russian interagency delegation, comprising experts from the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Prosecutor General's Office, participated."The Russian Federation is convinced that the results achieved during India's BRICS Presidency will provide additional impetus to cooperation among the member countries in the fight against corruption and highlight BRICS's contribution to relevant global efforts," the ministry said in a statement on its website.It is noted that the meeting discussed practical aspects of cooperation between the competent authorities of the BRICS member states in combating corruption, as well as improving the effectiveness of mutual legal assistance."Anti-corruption cooperation within BRICS is built solely on the basis of sovereign equality, mutual respect, and consensus, with compliance with national legislation, and with the aim of ensuring the well-being and prosperity of the states and peoples of the association," the statement reads.
