On Sunday, The Fars news agency reported that several explosions were heard on the Iranian island of Larak in the Strait of Hormuz. Axios reported that the US had launched a strike, presumably on Iranian missile launchers on Larak. Subsequently, Press TV reported that Iran had fired missiles at US vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as at US bases in the region. US Central Command claimed that it struck Iran to prevent its forces from mining the Strait of Hormuz."We're going to hit them hard," Trump told Fox News.He then released a ten-second AI-generated video depicting the "destruction" of Iran’s Kharg Island on the Truth Social platform, showing the island’s oil production infrastructure engulfed in flames following missile strikes.Kharg Island is home to Iran's largest oil reservoirs.
