Russia Readies Power of Siberia 2 for Construction: Energy Minister
Russia is finalising preparations for the construction of the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline to China, Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev said on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
"Power of Siberia is currently operating at full capacity. We are in the final stage of the transition to construction," he said at a meeting of the State Energy Council.
The pipeline project may be renamed more appropriately to "Power of Baikal," taking a cue from Russian President Vladimir Putin, the minister added.
