Trade between Russia and India increased by 8% year-on-year in the first half of 2026, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov said on Thursday.

"The high level of relations between our countries is reflected in the dynamics of our bilateral trade. Over the past four years, trade between our nations has grown by more than 50%. In the first half of this year, it rose by another 8%," Alikhanov said on the sidelines of the Innoprom.India forum

Industrial goods play a significant role in the structure of bilateral trade, the minister added. Russia supplies products from ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, the chemical industry and the fertilizer sector, as well as machinery and equipment, he added.

Imports from India mostly include pharmaceuticals, electronics, construction materials and textiles, Alikhanov also said.

The first international industrial exhibition "Innoprom. India" opened in New Delhi on Wednesday ahead of the 18th BRICS summit. More than 120 companies from Russia and India are showcasing their products at the three-day event.
