Russian President Vladimir Putin is traveling to India on Friday for a three-day working visit during which he will attend the BRICS summit and meet bilaterally with other world leaders in attendance on its sidelines.
On Friday, Putin will hold bilateral meetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, and Dilma Rousseff, the head of the BRICS New Development Bank.
The Russian president will also address the plenary session of the BRICS Business Forum 2026 during the day.
Also on Friday, Putin and Modi will visit the Innoprom.India international industrial exhibition, co-organized by the ministries of industry and trade of Russia and India.

BRICS is an intergovernmental association established in 2006 by Russia, China, India, and Brazil, with South Africa joining in 2011. Several additional countries joined BRICS starting in 2024. India holds the BRICS chairmanship in 2026.

The leaders met in New Delhi on Friday ahead of the BRICS summit. At the start of the conversation, Modi handed the book to Putin.
