External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has asserted that India will assess its relationship with Russia based on its own experience, rather than Europe’s perspective.
“Europe will base its judgement on Europe’s experience. India will base its judgement on India’s experience,” Jaishankar said, adding that India’s experience with Russia has been “quite positive and consistently so.”
Jaishankar further pointed to IMEC, the International North-South Transport Corridor and the Northern Sea Route as examples of emerging avenues for international cooperation.
Highlighting BRICS, he said countries are increasingly joining forces where their interests converge, creating new platforms and “habits of cooperation.”
The result, he said, has been an acceleration of the emergence of multipolarity, reflecting a global order shaped by multiple centres of influence rather than a single dominant power.
