Russian President Vladimir Putin is open to contact with all leaders for the purpose of reaching a peaceful settlement regarding Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.
"President Putin is open to contacts with everyone in the interest of the cause, in the interest of moving toward a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian issue. He has been open, remains open, and will continue to be open to such contacts," Peskov told reporters.
However, the possibility of European countries participating in trilateral talks between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine has not been discussed with anyone, the spokesman added, commenting on report by the Financial Times that Washington viewed the United Kingdom, France, and Germany as likely representatives of Europe in negotiations regarding Ukraine.
