India and China are exploring the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in various fields, including healthcare, food safety, and sustainability, a report published by the British Standards Institutions (BSI) revealed.
However, Western economies like the United Kingdom, France, and Germany are facing a confidence gap linked to low levels of public trust in the technology, a study by the BSI reveals.
“AI is a transformational technology. If we want people to use it more, trust need to be developed”, said Harold Pradal, chief commercial officer at the BSI.
The report says that 70 percent of Chinese and 64 percent of Indians already use AI on a daily basis, while Europe has a lower level of adoption, about 30 percent, and Japan has the lowest of all (15 percent only). Moreover, 63 percent of Chinese people anticipate using AI at home by 2030, the study reveals.
