Indian defence firm MKU revealed the world's maiden "rifle-rated ballistic helmet" at a military expo in Paris on Wednesday.
According to the Kanpur-based company, the helmet is the first in its class, having the capacity to provide head protection to troops from bullets fired from the likes of AK-47 MSC, M193, M80.
The development of the ballistic helmet, known as the Kavro Doma 360, by MKU, is a milestone for the Indian defenсe industry, considering it has been developed indigenously after five years of extensive research.
"The Kavro Doma 360 is more than a helmet; it is MKU's commitment to contributing to the nation," Neeraj Gupta, the representative of the company, said.
"As the Kavro Doma 360 takes center stage, we envision a future where self-reliance in defense becomes synonymous with Indian innovation," he added.
The Kavro Doma is being touted as a game changer as far as military safety headgear is concerned, with MKU's product set to help Indian security forces in a big way, especially in Kashmir, where troops engage with terrorists regularly.
