The Pakistani Election Commission's data about the overall wealth of caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar has shown that he neither owns a car nor has any business outside the country.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) reportedly said that Kakar was not a rich man even in his hometown in Balochistan in a statement on the assets and liabilities of the caretaker prime minister and his cabinet members.
According to reports, the former member of the upper house has inherited 20 acres of land in the Kila Saifullah area, and only has 100 shares in a mining company valued at Rs 50,000 ($174).
In his statement to the ECP, the PM reportedly submitted that his spouse has 10 tola gold and jewelry, his household items are worth Rs 400,000 ($1,400) and he does not own any vehicle or business outside the country.
However, the interim prime minister has Rs 47.72 million ($160,000) cash in hand or in the banks
Similarly, Finance Minister Shamshad Akhtar “does not own any car or any vehicle”, the reports said.
The other key cabinet member from Balochistan is Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti. He, the reports said, owns 90 camels, 8,870 sheep, 4,060 goats, 400 cows, 80 bulls and 86 buffaloes - all inherited - worth around Rs 7 billion ($24 million).
