At least nine Pakistani citizens have been killed in the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan, Pakistan's ambassador to Tehran said on Saturday.
“Deeply shocked by horrifying killing of nine Pakistanis in Saravan. Embassy will extend full support to bereaved families. Counsel Zahidan is already on his way to incident site and hospital where injured are under treatment.We called upon to extend full cooperation in the matter,” Ambassador Muhammad Mudassir Tipu wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.
Earlier, Iran's Mehr news agency quoted sources as saying that nine foreigners had been killed in an armed attack in the province of Sistan and Balochistan.
Gunmen attacked a house in the town of Sirkan in the early hours of the morning, the Iranian news agency quoted sources as saying. No armed group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, the report said.
