The Bengaluru City Crime Branch police are investigating a threatening email sent to Karnataka State Chief Siddaramaiah and his cabinet colleagues on Tuesday.
Apart from Siddaramaiah, others who have received the threatening email include Deputy State Chief DK Shivakumar and state Home Minister G Parameshwara.
According to media reports, the mail, with a video attached, was sent from the email address shahidkhan10786@protonmail.com.

“If you don't provide us with 2.5 million dollars, we will cause large explosions on buses, trains, temples, hotels and public areas throughout Karnataka,” the blackmailer wrote

The message said the blackmailers had other videos and threatened to set off a bomb on an Ambari Utsav bus.
“After the Ambari Utsav bus blast, we will raise our demands on social media. And will upload screenshots of the mail sent to you on social media. We will tweet information about the next explosion,” the note read.
The incident came the same day Karnatka resident Mohammed Rasool Kaddare was arrested for posting a video threatening to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh State Chief Yogi Adityanath.
