The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has carried out pre-dawn air strikes on TTP hideouts in two different locations inside Afghanistan, multiple reports said on Monday.
According to the reports, combat jets of the PAF pounded sanctuaries of TTP militants in Paktika and Khost provinces of the neighboring nation after Islamabad's repeated requests to the Taliban to take action against anti-Pakistan elements there fell on deaf ears.
According to the Pakistani media, these strikes showcased Pakistan's resolve to root out cross-border terrorism through coordinated counter-terrorism measures.
It is worth noting that the PAF's operation against TTP terrorists came only days after two Pakistan Army officers and five soldiers lost their lives in a militant attack in the North Waziristan district of the country during the weekend.
A day after the killing of seven members of its security forces, Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif reiterated that terrorists were using Afghan territory to launch attacks in the neighboring sovereign state.
"Terrorism against us is mostly being conducted from Afghanistan," he noted on Sunday.
