Mosques across India are beautifully adorned with decorations attracting scores of Muslim devotees gathered to offer prayers on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr festival on Thursday.
The joyful spirit of unity fills the air as families gather for gala feasts, breaking the month-long period of fasting and prayers, and exchanging gifts, while children eagerly await their share of Eidi, a traditional gift of money given during Eid.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media to wish everyone celebrating ‘Eid-ul-Fitr’ and said, “May this occasion further spread the spirit of compassion, togetherness and peace. May everyone be happy and healthy. Eid Mubarak!”
