Pakistan reported that 133 Afghan soldiers were killed in its operations, while the Taliban acknowledged that 55 Pakistani troops were killed.
The escalation followed Taliban attacks on Pakistani border positions, which Kabul's current authorities said were in response to Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan last week.
