Social media giant Twitter is set to introduce a new service for business account owners on the platform, the company confirmed via a tweet on Tuesday.The introduction of this new service on the microblogging platform comes as uncertainty mounts over new owner Elon Musk's future as chief executive of the San Francisco-based organization.On Monday, Twitter users voted in favor of Musk's departure as the social media giant's head after the 51-year-old multi-billionaire put up a poll, asking netizens whether he should quit as the microblogging site's chief.With more than 17 million participants taking part in the poll, 57.5 percent voted for him to step down from his post.Since he bought Twitter for $44Bln, Musk has faced flak for his drastic changes at the organization: not only did he sack Twitter's previous top management, including former chief executive Parag Agrawal, but also slashed its workforce by nearly 50 percent.More recently, he has come under fire for banning accounts of prominent journalists, including those of Donie O'Sullivan of CNN, The New York Times' Ryan Mac, and The Washington Post's Drew Harwell.Other media personalities whose accounts were suspended included Independent progressive reporter Aaron Rupar, ex-MSNBC host Keith Olbermann, and Linette Lopez, a columnist on Business Insider.Musk, however, lifted their bans on Saturday and the journalists returned to the platform moments later.

Social media giant Twitter is set to introduce a new service for business account owners on the platform, the company confirmed via a tweet on Tuesday.
"Today, we're rolling out Twitter Blue for Business, a new program that lets businesses distinguish their brands and key employees on Twitter. These accounts will show a square company badge next to their display names," the company posted this morning.
The introduction of this new service on the microblogging platform comes as uncertainty mounts over new owner Elon Musk's future as chief executive of the San Francisco-based organization.
On Monday, Twitter users voted in favor of Musk's departure as the social media giant's head after the 51-year-old multi-billionaire put up a poll, asking netizens whether he should quit as the microblogging site's chief.
With more than 17 million participants taking part in the poll, 57.5 percent voted for him to step down from his post.
The Tesla and SpaceX founder earlier promised to abide by the poll's results even if they didn't go in his favor. However, since the poll results came out, Musk hasn't said anything more about his plans to resign as Twitter's chief executive.
